About McGawMcGaw is an Illinois not-for-profit corporation that sponsors, administers, and supports graduate medical education. The corporate members of McGaw are four independent hospitals and Northwestern University. The member hospitals of the McGaw are Children’s Memorial Medical Center, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. McGaw has an affiliation with the VA Chicago Health Care System through Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Each member of McGaw is an independent entity and maintains sole management of and control over its own funds, properties, operations, and affairs. At the same time, each member has dedicated itself to the purposes of the Northwestern McGaw Center for Graduate Medical Education and affirms its obligations thereof. These obligations include (1) provision of a supportive educational environment based upon state-of-the art educational principles, emphasizing the highest ethical and professional standards and providing appropriate opportunity for scholarly endeavor; (2) routine assessment of program quality, and provision for ongoing quality improvement; and (3) the commitment of sufficient personnel and financial resources to support these endeavors.
