About GME

The Graduate Medical Education office (GME) is the administrative link to Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and the five hospitals that make up the consortium known as the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. This consortium includes Children’s Memorial Hospital, Evanston Northwestern Healthcare, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, and Veterans Affairs Chicago Health Care System. The office of Graduate Medical Education provides administrative support to over 950 residents and fellows who are enrolled in 71 accredited and 41 non-accredited programs in McGaw.

The GME office is located at 420 E. Superior Street, Rubloff Building, 12th floor, Chicago, IL 60611. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The telephone number is (312) 503-7975. The fax number (312) 503-5230.

GME Staff and Descriptions

Martha Collier is our fellowship coordinator and is responsible for all aspects of the fellowship programs including initial appointment, reappointment and funding.

Tina K. Espina is the ACGME coordinator for McGaw. She is involved with internal reviews of all accredited programs and overall institutional review.

Mel Handy acts as liaison between GME and the training programs. She handles appointment authorizations, rotation schedules, terminations and parking.

Lowell Kempf is our receptionist and program assistant. He processes all loan deferments, verifications of employment and verification of training forms.

Andre'a Robinson is the licensing and visa coordinator for McGaw. She is responsible for all aspects of the licensing of the residents/fellows for training.
